A rapidly expanding global leader in data center cooling solutions is looking for an experienced, organized, and detail-focused Applications Engineer to join their Cork team. The role involves servicing and maintaining critical cooling systems throughout Ireland.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise and support for data center projects from the initial stages through to shipment.
  • Offer engineered solutions, product application guidance, and support to key clients, sales teams, and representatives.
  • Understand customer design requirements by reviewing specifications, drawings, and direct interactions, and develop suitable design solutions and equipment selections.
  • Prepare cost estimates by analyzing customer specifications, plans, and consulting with engineers, architects, and technical personnel.
  • Assist the site teams and customers with technical support and guidance.
  • Support the engineering team during factory acceptance tests (FATs).
  • Prepare project-related documents, including quotations, data sheets, technical submittals, order forms, and operation & maintenance manuals.
  • Enhance customer knowledge by providing detailed technical information.
  • Respond promptly and accurately to all technical support requests.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing technical publications, networking, and participating in professional organizations.
  • Travel as required to support customers, sales managers, and representatives.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar technical role.
  • Degree in Engineering or higher-level qualification.
  • Strong organizational and communication abilities.
  • Proficient in using MS Office Suite and CAD software.
  • Experience with air and water thermal load calculations, including mass flow rate, delta T, and specific heat capacity.
  • Familiarity with psychrometric calculations.
  • Knowledge of refrigeration cycles and components.
  • Experience with selection tools for pumps, fans, coils, compressors, etc.
