Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated R&D Engineer II to join our Modelling & Simulation group within the Structural Heart & Aortic business. This role focuses on Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and supports product development by delivering technical insights through computational modelling.
You will be part of a collaborative team responsible for designing, developing, analyzing, and troubleshooting technical challenges during research and product development. The role also involves conducting in silico studies to address specific life science questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct computational studies to support product development.
- Use FEA tools (preferably Abaqus or LS-Dyna) to perform simulations related to concept selection, design optimization, and failure analysis.
- Work independently on assigned work packages, while collaborating within the wider FEA team to share knowledge and foster development.
- Ensure that all work complies with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Translate research findings into actionable and marketable product solutions.

Required Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field required. A Master’s degree is advantageous.
- Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years' relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree, or
- 0 years of experience with a master’s or advanced degree.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Finite Element Analysis
- Experience using Abaqus or LS-Dyna preferred
- Solid understanding of computational modelling principles
