Process Development Engineer I
Job Purpose:
The Process Development Engineer I will support multiple ongoing projects, primarily focusing on process improvement, equipment validation, and technical problem-solving. The current assignment involves working on coating processes within a medical device manufacturing environment. This role will collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, validate, and optimize manufacturing processes in line with New Product Introduction (NPI) and Continuous Improvement (CI) strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support coating and other manufacturing processes, driving improvements in yield, quality, and throughput.
- Collaborate across departments (e.g., R&D, Quality, Manufacturing) to introduce and integrate new products/processes into production.
- Assist in the programming and maintenance of new equipment sets using both visual and CAD-based approaches.
- Participate in the validation of equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards (Validation experience is desirable but not essential).
- Analyse and troubleshoot technical issues, working from basic to advanced engineering principles.
- Document findings, prepare technical reports, and present results to stakeholders.
- Work with minimal supervision in an independent role, while coordinating with the team for project alignment.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Level 8 BSc Honours Degree in a relevant engineering discipline (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Biomedical, Chemical or Process Engineering).
- 1+ years of relevant industry experience (Medical Device experience ideal, but not essential).
- Strong analytical skills with proven problem-solving ability.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally.
Desirable Technical Skills:
- Experience with coating processes in a manufacturing or R&D setting.
- Exposure to equipment validation and process validation activities.
- Proficiency in CAD and visual programming tools for equipment development.
