In this exhilarating role, you'll be at the forefront of driving Environmental Health & Safety initiatives, ensuring compliance, and fostering an energetic culture of safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Communicates the business impacts of EHS to leadership; uses influence to advance EHS compliance/programs
  • Manages EHS budget
  • Cultivate strong relationships with external regulators (HSA, EPA), maintaining effective collaboration
  • Champion EHS support for the introduction and review of processes, ensuring plant and equipment changes align with safety standards.
  • Manage, develop, and continually improve the site's EHS Management System
  • Ensures that site systems are in place to maintain 100% compliance with all Irish and EU Regulations, site’s IED licence
  • Facilitates all EHS&S audits (HSA, EPA, EHS&S, ISO 14001 / ISO 45001)
  • Understand and complies with all the regulations governing the environmental systems, including knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 50001.
  • Build and manage staff while creating an environment that motivates people who can work in highly team-based, matrixed, participative, results-orientated organisation.
  • Direct and manage all aspects of the Occupational Health programme and liaise closely with HR and Operations.
  • Work with the site leadership team and corporate to establish an annual set of EH&S goals, objectives and performance expectations for the site
  • Direct large scale EH&S related emergency situations, including emergency response systems and ensuring proper hazardous materials & electrical systems risk management.
  • Act as the Management Representative for the Environmental Management System.
  • Design and manage the delivery and implementation of all EH&S programs which ensure EH&S compliance of division with appropriate regulations and internal (divisional and corporate) policies.
  • Lead internal EH&S audit process.
  • Work with EH&S counterparts from across the company to leverage EH&S resources and programs that positively impact EH&S performance and reduce costs for EH&S efforts.

Education, Experience and Skills

  • Min. HETAC level 8 in Occupational Health & Safety or relevant discipline with 10+ years’ experience 
  • Master’s Degree or Postgraduate qualification in Occupational Health & Safety highly desirable.
  • Appropriate professional certifications in related fields preferred i.e. CMIOSH.
  • Excellent Stakeholder management skills
  • Highly proactive, mature judgment and decision making ability 
  • He/she is knowledgeable of legislative requirements, and systems needed to implement sound EH&S practice.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills are essential.
  • Ability to work autonomously & manage production related EH&S work essential.
  • Understand and complies with all the regulations governing the environmental systems, including knowledge of ISO 14001 & ISO 50001.
