Company Overview:

Our client, a leader in manufacturing, is seeking an experienced Site Manufacturing Manager to oversee production operations and drive operational excellence at their County Mayo facility. This dynamic role focuses on optimising workforce, materials, and facility utilisation to meet customer demands while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.

Job Summary:

The Site Manufacturing Manager will be responsible for leading plant production operations, ensuring the optimum use of personnel, materials, and physical assets. The role requires a strategic approach to improving efficiency, implementing industry best practices, and adhering to stringent safety and quality standards. The successful candidate will be integral in driving world-class performance and supporting long-term company growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Operational Leadership: Oversee plant production operations, ensuring alignment with business objectives and optimal use of resources.

 

 

  • Performance Management: Conduct regular KPI reviews, set stretch targets, and foster accountability to drive continuous performance improvement.

 

 

  • Health & Safety: Ensure robust health and safety systems are developed, implemented, and maintained to meet plant safety standards.

 

 

  • Employee Engagement: Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement, offering coaching and leadership to develop the site team.

 

 

  • Strategic Planning: Lead long-term strategic planning and annual operational planning to ensure site objectives are met, driving world-class performance.

 

 

  • Cost Reduction: Develop and execute plans to meet cost reduction targets, ensuring operational efficiency and profitability.

 

 

  • Capital Planning & Execution: Support capital planning initiatives, ensuring projects are executed to meet plant needs.

 

 

  • Lean Manufacturing: Develop and sustain a lean manufacturing culture using the Production System (HPS) to drive efficiency and continuous improvement.

 

 

  • Communication & Networking: Build effective communication channels at all levels and foster relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and corporate teams.

 

Requirements:

 

  • Experience:

 

o 15+ years in Production or Supply Chain Management within a high-volume, low-cost manufacturing environment.

o 10+ years in a management role, with 5+ years of experience in capital planning. o Experience in lean manufacturing and team-based production environments.

o Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, or a related technical field (required).

o Advanced degrees such as an MBA, MS, or Master’s in Engineering (preferred).

 

  • Skills & Technical Knowledge:

 

o Proven track record of leading change in manufacturing environments.

o Strong financial acumen with the ability to lead a manufacturing business unit.

o Expertise in lean manufacturing principles, ISO 13485, FDA CFR Part 820, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

o Greenbelt certification (preferred).

o Excellent problem-solving, strategic thinking, and interpersonal skills, with strong emotional intelligence.

o Proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
