About the Role:

Join a dynamic team as a Manufacturing Engineer I, where you will be instrumental in diagnosing and implementing effective solutions to manufacturing challenges using a structured problem-solving approach. This role champions continuous improvement through the application of Lean and Six Sigma principles, driving operational excellence in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Problem Solving: Identify and implement permanent solutions to manufacturing issues while promoting documentation and knowledge sharing.
  • Continuous Improvement: Lead initiatives to integrate Lean/Six Sigma manufacturing principles, enhancing production efficiency.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure product quality is maintained through robust systems such as GMP, NCR, and CAPA, meeting specification and inspection standards.
  • Production Flow Enhancement: Improve production workflows to achieve quality at source and provide rapid feedback from inspections.
  • Validation Leadership: Oversee validation activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  • Performance Analysis: Drive operational performance improvements by analysing Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) metrics, focusing on yield, uptime, and performance.
  • Mechanical Design: Design jigs and fixtures to optimise manufacturing processes, reduce machine changeover times, and improve maintenance practices.
  • Environmental Impact Evaluation: Assess new equipment and processes for environmental impacts in collaboration with EHS.
  • Health & Safety Compliance: Adhere to plant safety and health regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all.
  • Energy Conservation: Contribute to energy performance improvements by identifying conservation opportunities.
  • Continuous Improvement Participation: Engage in activities to enhance OH&S, Environmental, and Energy Management systems, providing feedback and reporting incidents timely.

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of validation techniques (IQ/OQ/PQ, TMVs) and associated regulatory requirements.
  • A motivated, flexible approach to work with a results-oriented mindset.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage complex technical projects within strict deadlines using Project Management methods (PMBOK).
  • Influential team player who promotes cross-functional teamwork and provides mentorship.
  • NFQ Level 8 in a Technical Discipline (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Mechatronics, or Biomedical) with a minimum of two years of relevant industry experience.
  • Project Management and Six Sigma qualifications are advantageous.
  • Strong skills in problem-solving, process improvement, data analysis, and project management are highly desirable.
