Commissioning Project Manager - Electrical
Purpose
Our Commissioning teams support clients in building resilient, sustainable, and cutting-edge mission-critical facilities worldwide. We ensure predictable project completion and operational readiness for our customers' critical needs.
As a Commissioning Project Manager, you will be part of our Quality & Commissioning team, leveraging your technical expertise and project management skills to coordinate and oversee all levels of commissioning. You will lead high-performing teams, ensuring successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Key Requirements:
- Oversee the end-to-end commissioning process for electrical, mechanical, and control infrastructure within mission-critical projects, ensuring on-time completion with minimal risk.
- Develop and implement a commissioning strategy aligned with customer requirements, ensuring clear scope definition and stakeholder coordination.
- Manage the tagging process to drive an iterative completion state.
- Provide technical leadership, resolving challenges to maintain project momentum.
- Act as the point of contact for all commissioning activities.
- Chair daily progress meetings, addressing deviations and mitigating risks.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, including PTW, SSOW, and LOTO systems.
- Align project setup and execution with industry best practices.
- Apply Lean Management principles to optimize efficiency and eliminate waste.
- Manage commissioning from L1 to L5, ensuring smooth equipment and system handover.
- Collaborate with the Quality Manager and project stakeholders to meet safety and regulatory standards.
- Support construction completion and pre-commissioning strategies, ensuring seamless transitions to start-up testing.
- Work closely with planning and scheduling teams to align construction with commissioning requirements.
- Develop and manage a detailed commissioning plan, ensuring clear roles, responsibilities, and procedures.
- Streamline documentation processes, ensuring testing is only considered complete when supporting paperwork is accurate and available.
- Coordinate AP & SAP systems for a safe and efficient energization program.
- Utilize data-driven decision-making for commissioning progress tracking.
- Manage and set expectations for OFCI and CFCI vendors through workshops and collaborative planning.
- Ensure seamless system turnover compliance.
- Provide hands-on leadership, decisive action, and detailed daily/weekly reporting.
Technical Skills
- Extensive experience in installation, commissioning, testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance of heavy commercial/industrial MEP systems.
- Strong Project Management capabilities.
- In-depth knowledge of MEP commissioning.
- Power Quality expertise.
- Understanding of Flush/TAB procedures.
- Background in construction completions.
- Proficiency in control system integration (PLC, BMS, SCADA, EPMS).
- Expertise in data center technical systems (MV & LV Switchgear, UPS, STS, Generators, ATS, AHUs, Chillers, Fan Walls, Control Systems, etc.)
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Control Systems, Building Services, Aeronautical, Marine, etc.).
- 10+ years of direct experience in MEP commissioning/commissioning management.
- Alternatively, a trade background (electrical/mechanical) with extensive hands-on MEP commissioning/management experience (10+ years).
- Strong expertise in base discipline, with knowledge across multiple technical domains for data center MEP systems.
- Project Management Certification or equivalent experience.
- Experience managing commissioning projects from planning to execution.
