Overview

This position sits within the Project Control department of Finance and is focused on the financial analysis and reporting of revenue-generating projects. It is a project-centric role that supports the financial oversight and performance of project portfolios.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare project cashflow projections during the sales offer stage and maintain cashflow across the overall project portfolio.

  • Develop and update project P&L forecast reports.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and accurate project closure within the ERP system.

  • Lead the execution and review of individual project P&L results and report on key findings.

  • Conduct in-depth variance analysis between actual project outcomes and budgeted costs in collaboration with other departments.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost control, financial reporting, and trend analysis through advanced analytical tools.

  • Compile and deliver monthly departmental reports, ensuring adherence to reporting deadlines.

  • Represent the finance department on internal and cross-functional project teams as needed.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Professionally qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years’ post-qualification experience in a similar analytical or project accounting role.

  • High proficiency in Microsoft Excel with demonstrated analytical skills and financial data interrogation capabilities.

  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and presentation.

  • Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities with a proactive and inquisitive mindset.

  • Collaborative team player who can also work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.

  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal), with the ability to build constructive relationships across teams and levels of the organisation.

  • Experience in the manufacturing or engineering sectors is an advantage but not essential.
