About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity for a talented Scientist III to join a cutting-edge Biologics facility in Dunboyne. The successful candidate will lead the development, implementation and continuous improvement of Laboratory IT Systems, ensuring seamless integration across analytical operations. This role is ideal for a highly motivated individual with a passion for technology and biopharmaceutical innovation. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) on laboratory data management systems, including but not limited to LIMS, Waters Empower, LabX, and Softmax Pro.

  • Design, configure, and optimise Lab IT systems that support technology transfer and commercialisation of biologics.

  • Oversee the performance of laboratory systems, ensuring compliance with current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) and System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) standards.

  • Implement industry best practices to enhance laboratory operations, sample management, testing workflows, and system validation.

  • Ensure all laboratory systems remain compliant with evolving global GMP regulations and guidelines.

  • Deliver comprehensive training to laboratory and technical staff on system usage and procedures.

  • Lead proactive initiatives in change control, document management, CAPAs, and audit readiness activities.

  • Drive continuous improvement, embedding lean principles and fostering a ‘right first time’ culture.

  • Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support for system issues, guiding cross-functional teams.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders across departments to eliminate barriers, support site goals, and enhance operational efficiency.

  • Regularly report on achievements and challenges, maintaining clear communication across functions.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Biochemistry, Chemistry, Engineering or a related scientific/technical discipline.

  • Minimum of 2 years' experience working with Laboratory Systems in a GMP-regulated environment.

  • Hands-on experience with laboratory software such as LIMS, Empower, and LabX, with interest in coding or scripting considered an advantage.

  • Solid understanding of analytical techniques such as HPLC, ELISA, PCR, glycan analysis, bioassays and compendial assays.

  • Familiarity with global regulatory requirements (GMP, ICH, USP) related to method development and validation.

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills.

  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally, with effective organisational and time management skills.

  • Proactive mindset with excellent problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
