Facilities Technician
We are seeking a proactive Facilities Technician to support site operations by maintaining equipment, facilities, and utilities. This role involves carrying out preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairing systems, and ensuring all work is documented accurately. You will support the installation and commissioning of new equipment and contribute to updates of procedures and maintenance standards.
In this position, you will perform routine compliance inspections, maintain accurate maintenance and calibration records, and complete both indoor and outdoor general maintenance tasks as required (e.g., facility upkeep, cleaning, equipment moves, grounds support).
Main Responsibilities
- Perform preventative and reactive maintenance across utilities, building systems, and production equipment.
- Work on Electrical systems, BMS, HVAC, boilers, boiler control systems, emergency lighting, and facility infrastructure.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues and complete general facility repairs.
- Support building services including mechanical, electrical, fire systems, and general building fabric.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure timely completion of maintenance and calibration tasks.
- Ensure all contractors comply with onsite Health & Safety and GMP requirements.
- Participate in cross-functional teams to improve facilities, equipment performance, and processes.
- Support validation and qualification activities related to facilities and manufacturing areas.
- Manage and update the CMMS system, maintenance schedules, and calibration records.
- Assist with facility-related software validation where required (e.g., BMS and equipment control systems).
- Completed a trade qualification or relevant technical certification.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and utility systems.
- Up to 2 years' experience in facilities maintenance, preferably within a regulated or manufacturing environment.
- Skilled in troubleshooting and maintaining electrical systems, HVAC, boilers, BMS, and emergency lighting.
- Experience working with building services and facility support systems.
- Proficient with maintenance reporting and computer systems; strong documentation skills.
- Self-motivated with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Cleanroom experience is beneficial but not required.
- Ability to prioritise work based on urgency and safety considerations.
