CNC Mill-Turn Specialist
We are seeking an experienced CNC Mill-Turn Specialist to join a highly technical, fast-paced manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for programming, setting up, and operating multi-axis mill-turn equipment while producing complex, high-precision components. This role requires strong CAM experience, excellent problem-solving abilities, and confidence working with challenging materials and tight tolerances.

Main Responsibilities

  • Program, set up, and operate multi-axis mill-turn machining centres to manufacture precision components.
  • Develop efficient and reliable CAM programs (Esprit or equivalent) for diverse and complex part families.
  • Optimise machining processes for quality, repeatability, cost, and throughput.
  • Troubleshoot machining issues, refine toolpaths, adjust offsets, and reduce cycle times.
  • Collaborate with engineering, quality, and operations teams to meet demanding production schedules.
  • Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant work environment.
  • Contribute to tooling strategies, process improvements, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in mill-turn machining within a precision engineering environment.
  • Strong proficiency in multi-axis CAM programming (Esprit experience highly desirable but not explicitly required).
  • Demonstrated capability to machine complex geometries and hold tight tolerances.
  • Comfortable in a high-mix, fast-paced production environment.
  • Excellent understanding of tooling, cutting strategies, and machining of difficult materials such as titanium, cobalt chrome, and stainless steels.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and close attention to detail.
Preferred / Advantageous
  • Experience with sliding-head / Swiss-type lathes.
  • Familiarity with automation, probing, macros, and advanced process optimisation.
  • Background in high-precision sectors such as medical devices, aerospace, or similar industries.
