Senior HVAC Engineer
We are currently seeking an HVAC Engineer to join a skilled engineering team within a highly regulated fabrication environment. Reporting to the Engineering Lead, this role will focus on the maintenance and operation of HVAC systems across cleanroom and ancillary buildings, ensuring all systems operate within specified fabrication parameters. The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining system performance, driving continuous improvement and energy efficiency initiatives, and ensuring full compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor HVAC systems to ensure performance within defined fabrication parameters
- Develop and implement comprehensive HVAC maintenance programmes for cleanroom and ancillary facilities
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance, inspections, and repairs to maximise system uptime
- Use process control systems to maintain environmental conditions and compliance standards
- Analyse system data in real time to identify anomalies and take corrective action
- Identify and implement optimisation strategies to improve system reliability and reduce energy consumption
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on HVAC performance and energy efficiency
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Production, Engineering, and Quality to support operational goals
- Liaise with external vendors for equipment procurement, specialist repairs, and service delivery
- Conduct statistical analysis of HVAC performance data to ensure systems remain within specification
- Produce clear reports on system performance, compliance status, and improvement outcomes
- Ensure all HVAC operations comply with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
- Support safety audits and deliver training and guidance to maintenance staff on HVAC systems and best practices
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and system documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, or a related field
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in HVAC operations within a fabrication, cleanroom, or industrial environment
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and associated mechanical and electrical components
- Experience with data analysis tools and HVAC performance monitoring
- Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of safety standards, environmental regulations, and compliance requirements
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across teams
- Flexibility to support project work and respond to urgent HVAC issues outside of standard hours when required
