Main duties and responsibilities:

• Responsible for development, installation and support of PLC controlled automation software projects within a automated validated manufacturing plant using the following equipment: Siemens PLCs (Siemens S7-300, S7-400, S7-1500 using Simatic Manager and TIA Portal). SCADA (Wonderware InTouch and ArchestrA) & Siemens WinCC. Knowledge of ProfiBUS DP and ProfiBUS PA used for Instrumentation required.
• Generating ideas and solutions for the improvement and development of control systems
• Provide technical support and work with or lead project teams.
• Supporting Operations where necessary and offering solutions for technical problems.
• Ensure that all activity and installations are carried out in accordance with both internal and external Health and Safety and Environmental standards.
• Support the implementation of all engineering and plant strategic initiatives
• Provide technical expertise as a subject matter expert.
• Provide moderately complex technical consultation and leadership to multidisciplinary teams.
• Identify and lead cost and technical improvements under the departments’ continuous improvement program

Requirements:

• Third level degree qualification in software engineering or equivalent
• Experience within high volume manufacturing environment
• Good understanding of software systems
• Strong Analytical and Problem solving skills
• Strong communication skills
• Attention to detail
• 5 years + experience
