The Automation Engineer plays a crucial role in supporting the Business Unit or Department with routine automation challenges, ensuring the smooth execution of the production schedule. The primary focus is to assist the business unit across all shifts while collaborating with Senior Automation Engineers on complex issues and identifying potential process enhancements.

Key Responsibilities

Business Unit Assistance
  • Provide ongoing support to the Business Unit/Department by resolving daily automation issues to ensure uninterrupted production. The position is primarily assigned to 2nd shift (16:30 – 00:00) at 20% or 3rd shift (00:00 – 08:00) at 33%, with additional availability for weekend callouts.
  • Implement equipment and process improvements within the manufacturing setup.
  • Lead minor automation projects aimed at enhancing the unit’s processes.
  • Contribute to the automation design aspect of capital expenditure projects within the unit/department.
  • Assist with the installation and commissioning of automated equipment on site.
  • Participate in technical problem-solving discussions related to product manufacturing, aseptic filling, and packaging.
  • Collaborate closely with IT (BTS) and Maintenance teams when addressing equipment and system issues.
  • Provide off-shift and weekend support as part of an on-call rotation.
Administrative Duties
  • Attend bi-weekly Tier 2 department meetings.
  • Participate in external meetings when required.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, IT, Mechatronics, or a related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience supporting automation control systems and client/server architectures with solid knowledge of networking fundamentals.
  • Experience with Siemens and Rockwell (Allen Bradley) PLC control systems.
  • Familiarity with SCADA systems such as Rockwell FactoryTalk, Siemens WinCC, iFix, Wonderware, etc.
