The mechanical and optical department is responsible for the display module design which includes the mechanical, optical, and touch functionality. The senior engineer will cooperate with other disciplines in project teams and will interface with suppliers to define the functions of the module components. They are responsible for translating custom/module requirements into component/process requirements, the actual mechanical (2D / 3D) design of the parts (in alignment with suppliers), verification, and release of the components.

Internally, they will work together with other mechanical engineers in the mechanical team and suppliers, being responsible for initial customer inquiry to the smooth introduction of the components in mass production. The customers in the automotive market expect a more robust product. and our company is expected to set the standard for a robust mechanical model design. At the same time, the design also needs to be optimized from the perspective of yield and manufacturability. Besides the product development activities, also support during the quotation phase of the customer project and technology development activities can belong to the working field.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor in Mechanics, preferably a Masters.
• Experience as a mechanical engineer in a product development position.
• Experience with CAD design, preferably in Creo / Windchill.
• Experience in an automotive environment is a plus.
• Experience with development of cosmetic plastic parts and metal diecast parts is preferred.
• Good knowledge of English is assumed.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Interest in product design and strong in product development with conceptual thinking and drive to perform.
• Willing to travel sometimes to Asia and within Europe.
