Manufacturing Technician (Nights) – Galway, Ireland
Shift: 11:00pm to 7:00am, Sunday night to Friday morning
Start Date: Interviews starting immediately; targeted start in June
Overview:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Manufacturing Technician (Nights) to join a leading medical device company based in Galway, Ireland. This role is ideal for a candidate experienced in highly regulated environments and automation systems, looking to work with advanced packaging sealers and box pack automated machinery. PLC expertise, along with mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic knowledge, is essential.

Key Responsibilities:
• Equipment Support and Troubleshooting:
Work closely with Manufacturing Engineers to develop, troubleshoot, standardise, and improve existing production methods and procedures.
• PLC Programming and Electronic Systems:
Carry out electronic troubleshooting, PLC programming, and electronic hardware interfacing to support production operations.
• Maintenance and Inventory Management:
Maintain a critical spares inventory for essential maintenance items to minimise equipment downtime.
• Production Process Improvement:
Assist Manufacturing Engineers in investigating, designing, and implementing new production methods and technologies.
• Equipment Design and Documentation:
Support the design, specification, manufacturing, testing, and documentation of production equipment changes and improvements.
• Validation and Reporting:
Perform equipment qualifications and validations, including the generation of detailed technical reports.
• Vendor and Internal Collaboration:
Liaise with cross-functional teams and external vendors to deliver effective equipment and process support.
• Preventative Maintenance:
Take responsibility for the preventative maintenance procedures within assigned processes or areas.
• Health, Safety, and Environmental Compliance:
Communicate any concerns regarding environmental impact, health, or safety issues to management, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will have proven experience in the medical device sector or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. A strong background in automation, PLCs, mechanical, pneumatic, and electronic systems is critical for success in this role. Excellent troubleshooting abilities, proactive communication skills, and a commitment to continuous improvement are key attributes.
