Overview
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Lead to join a leading medical device manufacturing organisation based in Tipperary. This is a strategic, senior- level role offering a defined pathway to EHS Manager, as part of a structured succession plan already in place.
This position is ideal for a people-focused leader who is ready to step into a broader leadership remit, influence site culture, and play a key role in supporting ongoing site growth and expansion.
The Opportunity
As a senior member of the EHS function, you will:
- Lead and shape the site’s EHS strategy and culture
- Provide people leadership and mentorship to EHS team members and cross-functional stakeholders
- Act as a key successor to the EHS Manager role, with development and transition plans already defined
- Contribute to a high-growth, investment-driven manufacturing site
Key Responsibilities
- Drive and continuously improve site-wide EHS programs and initiatives
- Lead risk assessments, hazard identification, and control implementation
- Ensure compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and all relevant regulatory requirements
- Act as the primary liaison with regulatory bodies and external authorities
- Provide leadership and coaching to supervisors and teams on EHS best practices
- Oversee emergency response planning and execution
- Lead EHS audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Manage incident investigations, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Drive excellence in chemical safety and hazardous waste management
- Monitor, analyse, and report EHS performance metrics to leadership
Your Profile
- Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related discipline (Level 8 minimum)
- 5+ years’ experience in a senior EHS role, ideally within medical devices or regulated manufacturing
- Proven people leadership or team mentoring experience (formal or informal)
- Strong working knowledge of Irish and EU EHS legislation
- Experience managing or contributing to EHS management systems and audits
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- A proactive mindset with the ambition to step into an EHS Manager role
