Provide expert support for all electrical activities and multi-disciplinary projects, ensuring optimal performance of process and utility equipment. Maintain compliance with Personnel, Quality, Safety, and Finance policies while overseeing and improving the site’s electrical utilities. Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure electrical systems are designed, maintained, and upgraded in line with European electrical standards and ETCI regulations.
  • Lead and provide technical support for electrical-related issues, including troubleshooting, optimization, cost reduction, and team development.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of the electrical network.
  • Coordinate the annual site maintenance shutdown, taking ownership of all electrical systems.

  • Manage teams, equipment, and processes to meet annual and strategic goals, fostering a culture focused on safety, quality, and team performance.
  • Monitor and ensure reliable operation of all electrical systems through effective programs and procedures.
  • Actively contribute to department success by sharing expertise and fostering team collaboration.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across cost reduction, process efficiency, and operational excellence.
  • Prepare capital expenditure requests for facility and equipment improvements.
  • Manage and execute continuous improvement projects.
  • Lead and coordinate site power-down/up activities to minimize operational impact, ensuring all work meets GMP and safety requirements.
  • Liaise with external utility companies to ensure the site’s 10kV supply meets ESB Network standards and safety regulations.

Team and Contractor Management:

  • Directly manage the site’s Electrical Infrastructure Program, overseeing a team of three (subject to change).
  • Lead CompEX inspections to ensure compliance with ATEX standards.
  • Manage the electrician team to optimize costs and oversee electrical project delivery.
  • Lead electrical testing, commissioning, and validation of new equipment on site.
  • Ensure preventive maintenance plans are timely and tracked for completion.
  • Provide technical support for electrical elements of on-site projects, ensuring all safety standards are met.

Site Support and Compliance:

  • Develop project documents, including scope of works, user requirements, schedules, and budgets, ensuring performance standards are met.
  • Review and approve electrical installations and drawings, ensuring adherence to site requirements and regulations.
  • Lead maintenance reviews for electrical systems, ensuring compliance with European standards.
  • Manage site electrical systems, including circuit breakers, transformers, UPS systems, emergency lighting, fire alarms, security systems, and more.
  • Utilize the electrical power quality system to improve site infrastructure performance.

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Set and achieve targets, with monthly progress reviews.
  • Take responsibility for electrical utilities and act as the electrical lead on multi-disciplinary site projects.
  • Provide leadership and cross-training to department members, fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
  • Lead strategic electrical projects and initiatives that drive long-term sustainability for the site.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical or Mechatronic Engineering, or a National Craft Certificate in Electrical Engineering with a Management Degree.
  • 10+ years of experience as an Electrician.
