Job Summary:

A leading Life Science company in Dublin 15 seeks an Automation Engineer .
The role involves supporting new manufacturing projects by specifying, purchasing, and managing new manufacturing solutions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects for new equipment, process, and product introductions.
  • Develop and implement manufacturing strategies.
  • Establish and manage project teams.
  • Build relationships with customers and equipment suppliers.
  • Ensure new equipment meets specifications, cost, time, and regulatory requirements.
  • Install and hand over new equipment with appropriate training.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure new processes meet requirements.
  • Identify and introduce new manufacturing methods.
  • Represent the company at customer meetings.
  • Train personnel on new processes or systems.
  • Ensure systems are in place for new processes and equipment.
  • Act as a technical expert in automated manufacturing processes.
  • Ensure compliance with Environmental, Health, and Safety requirements.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and corporate Code of Conduct.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the supervisor.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum NFQ Level 7 Degree in engineering (Automation, Mechatronics, or Mechanical Engineering preferred).
  • At least 3 years of engineering experience.
  • Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley or Siemens) and vision control systems (Cognex).
  • Knowledge of Barcode Scanning & RFID, and Industrial Networks (Ethernet IP, Control Net, Profibus).
  • Understanding of machine control systems, MES, Batch Manufacturing, and SQL Databases.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing automation, machine design, development, and validation processes (GAMP 5 guidelines preferred).
  • Experience in a customer-facing environment.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of EU-GMP.
  • Experience in medical, packaging, or technological industries.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements and serialization.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and project management certification (e.g., PMP).
  • Lean Sigma certification
