Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Medical Device R&D Engineer to join our team in Munich. The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development, and testing of innovative medical devices, with a strong focus on catheter systems and delivery mechanisms. This position requires 3-5 years of experience in medical device R&D, proficiency in Solidworks, and the ability to relocate to Munich.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and development of new medical devices, with a focus on catheter and delivery systems.
- Develop part designs for injection moulding, ensuring compliance with medical device standards.
- Perform material selection and ensure appropriate use of polymers, stainless steel, and other materials.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including regulatory, manufacturing, and quality departments to bring products from concept to market.
- Develop and validate test methods for product testing and ensure all tests are thoroughly documented.
- Write comprehensive technical reports and documentation for internal and external use.
- Use Solidworks to create detailed CAD models and assemblies for medical device components.
- Participate in design reviews and ensure product designs meet required regulatory and safety standards.
Required Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Biomedical, or related discipline).
- 3-5 years of experience in medical device research and development.
- Proven expertise in catheter systems and/or delivery systems design.
- Strong experience in part design for injection moulding.
- Materials knowledge including polymers, stainless steel, and other relevant materials.
- Experience in test method development and writing technical reports.
- Proficiency in Solidworks for product design and modeling.
- Strong understanding of medical device regulatory requirements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience working in international or multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance for medical devices in the EU.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness and ability to relocate to Munich, Germany.
