As a Senior R&D Program Manager, you will lead critical new product development teams within the Vascular Health Business Unit, overseeing the creation of breakthrough therapies for arterial and venous diseases, including advanced products like Drug Coated Balloons, Stents, and Embolisation Therapies.
Role Overview
This hybrid role, based in Galway, Ireland, offers the chance to provide both strategic and tactical leadership to a talented, multi-disciplinary team. Reporting to the Senior R&D Director, the Senior R&D Program Manager will be instrumental in designing innovative, life-enhancing products aimed at alleviating pain, restoring health, and extending life.

Key Responsibilities
- Core Team Leadership: Guide cross-functional teams on vital new product development projects, overseeing project scoping, budgeting, risk management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Strategic Issue Resolution: Resolve project challenges through informed decision-making, collaborative problem-solving, and persuasive communication.
- Program Management: Establish program objectives, milestones, and budgets, ensuring timelines are met within budget constraints.
- Team Development: Inspire, motivate, and nurture a diverse team of high-calibre professionals and vendors, fostering a culture of technical innovation and excellence.
- Resource Allocation: Identify resources and assign responsibilities to effectively reach program objectives.
- External Representation: Confidently represent the company to customers and stakeholders in a professional and knowledgeable manner.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Establish strong working relationships across departments to ensure teams have the information and resources needed to succeed. Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Education: Level 8 Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field, with 7+ years of relevant experience (5+ years in a managerial role), or an advanced degree with equivalent experience.
- Program Management Expertise: Proven track record in managing programs in regulated environments, ideally with experience in medical device product development.
- Technical Knowledge: Proficient in DOE, Six Sigma, DFM, and skilled in stakeholder management.
- Healthcare Collaboration: Experience working with physicians to identify and address unmet therapeutic needs.
- Travel Flexibility: Willingness to travel up to 10% as needed.
