Job Title: Value Stream Operations Manager

Location: Galway, Ireland

Overview: A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a dynamic and results-driven Value Stream Operations Manager to join a leading manufacturing company in Galway. This role is pivotal in driving the business performance of a key Value Stream, collaborating with a cross-functional team, and aligning operations with the broader Business Strategy. The successful candidate will be responsible for capacity management, financial performance, and achieving key business objectives. Key Responsibilities:

1. Health and Safety:
   Champion health and safety initiatives, aligning them with plant objectives to minimise accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
2. Quality:
   Drive quality improvements by reducing complaints, enhancing Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliance, and fostering a culture of "right-first-time" across the Value Stream.
3. Service:
   Ensure timely product delivery by understanding customer needs and creating Exceptional Customer Experiences.
4. Continuous Improvement:
   Lead continuous improvement efforts, driving annual productivity gains within the allocated budget.
5. People Management:
   Select, develop, and mentor staff through regular 1:1 meetings and performance reviews, fostering a high-performance team environment.
6. KPI Management:
   Monitor and improve business performance by effectively using KPIs to enhance output, efficiency, and cost control.
7. Communication Leadership:
   Lead communications within the plant, ensuring that the Business Unit's goals and updates are effectively conveyed to all team members.
8. S&OP and Budget Support:
   Support the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and budget processes, ensuring alignment with business goals.
9. NPD Support:
   Seamlessly integrate new products into the Value Stream, meeting business and customer expectations.
10. Change Management:
    Implement and manage change plans, including line changes and recovery plans, while supporting other sites as needed.

Qualifications:

• A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in a business/manufacturing environment, with proven management responsibility for business performance.
• A degree in a related discipline is essential.
• Experience or qualification in lean disciplines, with a strong background in process improvement and problem-solving, is highly advantageous.

• Proven ability to lead and motivate individuals and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.
• Exceptional communication skills at all levels, with strong interpersonal and negotiation abilities.
• Strong decision-making capabilities and a willingness to take ownership of responsibilities.
• In-depth knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, Project Management, or New Product Introduction (NPI).
• Demonstrated ability to drive organisational change and support key business initiatives.
• Flexibility to take on additional responsibilities as assigned.
