Position Overview

Our client is looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to manage CNC operations, from setup to execution. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with engineers to design fixtures, source necessary equipment, and take ownership of all programming and machining tasks. The role primarily focuses on mould and pattern work to support the needs of the industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Program and configure CNC Milling Machines according to project specifications.
  • Design and manufacture machining fixtures.
  • Operate CNC machinery to meet product and industry requirements.
  • Interpret technical drawings and apply knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Ensure safety by following all operational protocols and safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, well-organized workspace and uphold housekeeping standards, including 6S.
  • Participate in cross-training to promote flexibility and versatility within the team and across departments.
  • Support the CNC department with scheduling and job completion requirements.
  • Oversee and manage the CNC Operations team.
  • Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Leaving Certificate or equivalent, a technical diploma, or an associate degree in CNC machining, manufacturing technology, or a related field.
  • Experience: Prior experience is preferred but not mandatory, as comprehensive training will be provided.
  • Technical Expertise:
    • 2-5+ years of experience with CNC machines, including 5-axis CNC machines.
    • Proficiency in CAD/CAM software such as SolidWorks or Hypermill.
    • Ability to set up, operate, and maintain 5-axis CNC machines.
    • Strong understanding of technical drawings, precision measuring tools, and GD&T.
    • Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues to ensure precision and product quality.
  • Additional Skills:
    • Fluent in English; proficiency in Irish is a bonus.
    • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform manual tasks.
    • Highly motivated, self-driven, and able to work independently.
    • Adaptability and willingness to support other departments when needed.
    • Receptive to feedback and eager to grow professionally.
