Position Summary
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a talented and ambitious Mechanical Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team in a leading manufacturing organisation based in Cork. This full-time position offers hands-on involvement in automation projects, system integration, and validation of cutting-edge automated equipment.

What You Will Do

  • Assist in the design, development, and implementation of advanced automated equipment.

  • Collaborate within cross-functional teams to ensure seamless system integration.

  • Support test strategies and validation activities throughout the equipment lifecycle.

  • Troubleshoot mechanical and automation issues and contribute to problem resolution.

  • Participate in risk assessments, including FMEA, and support documentation such as FDS, SDS, and equipment manuals.

  • Work with QA and Operations to embed robust testing and validation processes.

  • Monitor KPIs and quality metrics to drive continuous improvement and system performance.

  • Engage in regular reviews of requirements and designs from a mechanical testability perspective.

  • Maintain high standards in compliance with company Quality and Regulatory guidelines.

What You Will Need

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Level 8) in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.

  • Minimum 2-4 years’ experience in a manufacturing or engineering environment

  • Knowledge of mechanical design principles and interest in automation and robotics.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a continuous improvement mindset.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • A collaborative team player with a proactive and flexible attitude.

  • Organisational skills with an ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.

Desirable (but not essential):

  • Exposure to automated systems, validation, or process equipment.

  • Familiarity with test frameworks and risk analysis documentation.

  • Experience in a regulated industry (e.g., medical device, pharmaceutical, automotive).
