Senior Utilities Engineer | Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing | Ireland
HERO Recruitment is seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Senior Utilities Engineer to join a leading biopharmaceutical company in Ireland. As a key member of the team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliable operation, compliance, and continuous improvement of clean utility systems within a cGMP environment.
About the Role:
- Lead the operation and maintenance of clean utility systems, including water, steam, compressed air, and HVAC.
- Champion a culture of safety by promoting safe work practices and participating in safety audits, hazard reviews, and pre-startup safety reviews.
- Serve as a technical expert, troubleshooting equipment issues and optimizing utility system performance for maximum efficiency.
- Ensure the ongoing qualified state of clean utility systems through meticulous documentation, effective root cause analysis, and proactive maintenance strategies.
- Lead IQ/OQ/PQ activities for new equipment and manage system/component classification for optimal maintenance practices.
- Develop and manage capital project scopes to address equipment reliability and enhance overall operations.
- Coach and train operators and technicians on proper equipment use and maintenance procedures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to boost unit operations and equipment performance.
- Foster strong communication and collaboration with team members and stakeholders across all levels.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Utilities Engineering, preferably within a biopharmaceutical or other GMP-regulated environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a closely related field.
- Strong understanding of clean utility systems, HVAC, and potentially black utility systems or electrical systems.
- A demonstrated commitment to safety with excellent safety protocols and knowledge.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Proactive and results-oriented with a focus on efficiency and continuous improvement.
- Willingness to travel for projects and training.
